About the role | Ko te kaupapa
We’re looking for an experienced Gardener to join our Parks and Reserves Division, supporting the delivery of high-quality maintenance, project, and contract works. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks including gardening, mowing, and chemical application, as well as operating plant and machinery in line with training and certification requirements.
You will play an important part in ensuring work is delivered efficiently and in accordance with company policies and Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
Bringing strong horticultural knowledge and practical experience, you will confidently use a range of small tools such as weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers. You’ll also be able to interpret landscape plans and specifications to guide your work and maintain professional relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the wider public.
This role requires excellent communication and time management skills, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A flexible approach, strong work ethic, and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines will be key to your success

- Full Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
- NZQA Certificate in Horticulture Level 4 (desirable)
- Grow Safe Certificate (desirable)
- Traffic Management Qualification (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (advantageous)
