We have one of the largest horizontal infrastructure teams in the South Island working in the maintenance, civil, and water industry. The work we do strengthens the communities we work and play in, with several key long term maintenance contracts throughout the Canterbury region and a number of civil projects currently being completed throughout the South Island.
About the role | Ko te kaupapa
We have a busy forward work programme and are looking for an experienced Drainlayer to join our team in Rolleston.
If you're passionate about civil drainage and take pride in delivering quality work, we'd love to hear from you.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing concrete and PVC pipelines, constructing manholes, sumps, and other drainage structures, and working safely in excavations and trench shields. You will be confident operating 3–20 tonne excavators and have a strong understanding of drainage systems, grades, levels, and quality standards.
You will also be able to read and interpret construction drawings and service plans, work safely around live underground services, and maintain a strong commitment to health and safety.

What You'll Bring | Ko ngā pūkenga ōu
- Full Class 2 Driver Licence
- WTR endorsement
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the drainage industry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit, reliable, and self-motivated
- A positive attitude and strong commitment to health and safety
Applicants who are CCC Authorised and NZ PGDB Registered will be viewed favourably. Experience with dewatering systems is also highly regarded. If you are not currently NZ PGDB Registered, we are happy to support the right applicant through registration and the required training.
