About the role | Ko te kaupapa

 

We're looking for an experienced Civil Carpenter with strong leadership skills to join our team in a Leading Hand - Structures role. With multiple projects underway and more coming up, this is a great chance to be part of a skilled and dynamic team, working on high-profile projects like bridges, retaining walls, and boardwalks.

 

You will bring experience in formwork and boxing, concrete work, as well as skilled knowledge in steelwork.  You'll also need to be confident reading and interpreting plans and have a proven background in civil building projects, preferably with bridge experience.

 

As a Leading Hand you will play an important role in managing and overseeing a wide range of projects. You will have experience leading and motivating a team of skilled tradespeople and labourers to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standard.

What you'll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

 

  • Level 4 - Concrete Construction (Commercial and Civil Infrastructure)
  • Proven experience in civil infrastructure concrete and formwork construction
  • Demonstrated competency in formwork installation, steel fixing, and concrete placement and finishing
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction drawings and specifications
  • Current Site Safe or ConstructSafe passport
  • Full Class 1 driver licence
  • Ability to work unsupervised and complete tasks to programme and quality requirements
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on civil construction sites
  • Works well in a crew and communicates clearly
  • Takes pride in quality, safety, and doing the job right
