We're about to hit the busy season and are looking for a skilled forklift operator to join our awesome team for a stable, permanent role at the Resource Recovery Park.

Job Description

About the role | Ko te kaupapa 
Reporting to the Contract Manager, your main job will include moving cardboard bins, glass bins and other materials around the site by forklift, which keeps material flowing and lets our loader operators focus on production. When you're not on the forklift, you'll work alongside the team as a general labourer. Your day will include:

  • Completing daily vehicle and plant checks and inspection sheets
  • Keeping the site clean, tidy and free from litter
  • Making sure gear is secured and locked away at the end of the day
  • Following safe work practices and taking part in pre-starts and toolbox talks

What you'll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

  • Class 1 driver licence (required)
  • Forklift endorsement and the ability to operate a forklift safely (required)
  • Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Customer service experience is a bonus, because you'll deal with the public
  • Physically fit and self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised with a positive attitude
  • Health and safety conscious and ability to use common sense.
